2020 is off to a great start!
Will and Mason put on a clinic the other day while on break from @auburnuniversity. Fun fact: Will’s dad was in @gettingoutdoors and my wedding.
Lit up! @oldtroutrodworks with a beautiful fish caught with one of his beautiful rods. This guy is building really sweet tapers and he knows how to use them! https://www.instagram.com/p/B3nje5Vh1uQ/?igshid=13aan367f890

They are starting to get Greer’s Ferry Lake to drop. It doesn’t look like they are going to go to flood gates. They are running generators about 16 hours a day. These conditions have been great for boat fishing. Read full report by Jamie: https://www.orvis.com/fishing_report.aspx?locationid=5920

Tip of the week: During the next few days while the river clears, try darker colors.
We will probably continue to see daily generation. The lake is rising. The river should clear within the next couple of days after this most recent rain event. Fishing has remained strong. For full report by Capt. Rouse go to https://www.orvis.com/fishing_report.aspx?locationid=5920
Fishing Report 4.11.18
Fishing conditions: Excellent
Water condition: clear
Water flow: medium

Finally round the clock generation has stopped! In lower water fishing emergers should be red hot. In higher flows streamers should be on point. Fishing is about to be bangin’!! Bugs should be everywhere. The next few weeks should be unbelievable!!

Fieldwork is tough, but someone has to do it…
We have been ready for a break in the icy temps sans snow around here, and we finally got it the other day. So, the stars aligned with most of our schedules, and we hit the river. Missing was Jordan, who was on another part of the river guiding and Tony, who was out of town. Jack joined the team and logged some good time on the oars in Chris’ drifter. Jamie hopped in the boat with Chris and Jack. They landed some nice ones.
In the other boat I netted two beautiful browns right out of the gate. I caught a few more and then made Cameron fish so that I could work on my rowing. He didn’t have to crank the engine once, so that was a win!
As always, we had a blast and can’t wait for the next time. On a side note, we are taking it to the next level with our disc golf game. Tony and I lost to Jamie and Jack by only one stroke. We’ll get them next time. Jamie has his sights on the pro tour. If nothing else, it’s always good to cross train.
Fish happy,
Kati

If you try and throw streamers while wading, it’s best to look for a line that has a floating running line. This insures that the running line does not sink around your feet between casts. For full report by Capt. Rouse go to http://www.orvis.com/fishing_report.aspx?locationid=5920
