We have had several rain events keeping all three reservoirs full. We should have good flows for those wanting to throw winter streamers. For full report by Capt. Rouse go to https://www.orvis.com/fishing_report.aspx?locationid=5920.
Have a super weekend and by all means get outside!
Quick fish with my bud. He may be 11, but it doesn’t slow him down. Photo 1: River preparations. Gus is helping behind the scenes. Photo 2: Laser focus. Photo 3: Fishy kisses. He had to kiss each one. They couldn’t swim away fast enough.
A lot of times you will find us playing disc golf on a day off. (Jamie is determined to take it to the next level and he is putting in a lot time and effort as is his way with anything he does). But, on some days we manage to actually fish together. ( And actually, I never get a day off, but my office can be anywhere. Outside is always best. Outside and fishing is magnificent). On this particular perfectly windy fall day, we headed to a little spot in search of smallmouth. A long the way we saw a black bear, an eagle, groundhog, mink, carp, trout and ultimately, those feisty smallmouth! We each took our turn at bat and on the sticks. Of course the guides, make rowing a very long boat in high winds look like second nature. I’m not there yet. We each landed some nice ones and had a blast doing it.
The boys ended the day with tacos from our new favorite place. I ended up in the car line to pick up our little cubs. Some might think I got the short end of the stick on that deal. I think I won. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
