Beautiful Fall Colors on the Little Red.
Little Man went fishing with Capt. Rouse this past Sunday morning. He is pretty awesome with a roll cast and caught 3 fish in a short amount of time—much to the dismay of two men fishing nearby who had yet to catch anything! I couldn’t resist posting Little Man’s artwork from school this past week. This is the stuff that makes me happy! I am thankful for the river, too, Little Man.

Perfect morning.
Fall is Upon Us.
We are on the brink of our busiest season—one of the main reasons I changed to a January marathon! There is no place I would rather be though in the fall than the Ozarks. We are just starting to see glimpses of the color that draws people from all around. The team is getting everything ready. Capt. Rouse and I picked up his lake boat last week after some minor repairs to the trolling motor, so it is now ready for hybrids—so fun!
In the midst of all the busyness, Jamie and I did pause to have our weekly date night. At Matt’s suggestion, we tried Slader’s Alaskan Dumpling Co. The owner, Slader Marshall, is from Juneau, Alaska. He served us his handmade dumplings, which were divine. The conversation was excellent, too, making for an exceptionally enjoyable evening out with my favorite guide!
On another note, the Fayettechill fall photo shoot had to be postponed as we got some much needed rain. Stay tuned! We should do it in the next couple of weeks! The top pic is of the river today. Wish I had had my rod with me as I saw quite a few trout during the short time that I was there. Hopefully, our FC friends will see some more when they come. I’m pretty sure they will!
In the meantime, get outside to enjoy the crispness of the fall air and the ever-changing colors of this beautiful season!
And of course, fish and run happy!

BEAT THE HEAT!
Many think of August as Back to School, but for JRFFA, it is Beat the Heat month. We are offering our special rate for the entire month of August. Meet at 6 a.m. and fish until noon. Light snacks provided by Fish Food Catering, which we now use exclusively for all of our trips. It has been a huge hit!
Stay tuned for our new fall lineup and casting lesson packages as JRFFA continues to grow! Thank you for your continued support!
COLORADO WRAP UP
So we just finished another great year in Colorado last month. Super time with Herb and crew. This year our whole pack got into the action and did some serious family camping. Here are a few of the pics from the trip. Let us know if you are interested in going next year. Limited spots available. Check out Kati’s blog outdoorkidsplay for more on our family adventure.
