SPENDING DAYS WITH DAVE
Over the last several years I have had the pleasure of becoming much closer to one of the industry’s (as well as my own) mentors. If for some reason you are not familiar with Dave Whitlock, I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest version. Grandfather to American flyfishing, Ozark’s native son, incredible artist, environmentalist, conservationist, and still one of the sweetest casters you will ever see. Of course, the list goes on. Enough about Dave, what about Emily? Emily is a great angler (one of the best I have ever fished with), a conservationist, and much more. Her passion for the sport and protecting where the fish live, is contagious. I could goo on for pages. They are both great anglers and human beings. Together they are amazing. Any time the Whitlocks get on my schedule, I look forward to it with youthful, giddy anticipation.
The Whitlocks will be around quite a bit in the near future. They are going to be helping the Little Red River Foundation with some projects on the river. If you are not a member, why not? Please consider becoming one. Here is the link: http://www.lrrf.org
Happy Halloween!
